After five-year junior hockey career, Las Vegas’ Moore off to play college puck with NCAA D-III Wisconsin-Stout

 

The NAHL’s Shreveport Mudbugs have announced that defenseman Gunner Moore has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Moore, 21, is a true ladder of development success story. The Las Vegas native played five seasons of junior hockey, all of which were spent either in the NAHL or NA3HL. All told, Moore appeared in 227 career regular-season games between the two leagues and recorded 162 career points.

This past season was Moore’s first full season in the NAHL as he appeared in 49 games for the Mudbugs and recorded 16 points (six goals, 10 assists).

Moore made his junior debut in the NA3HL during the 2017-18 season with the Atlanta Capitals. He spent four seasons playing for Atlanta, appearing in 161 games and putting up 143 career points.

He was also selected to and played in three NA3HL Top Prospects Tournaments in 2021, 2020, and 2018. He was also named to the All-NA3HL 1st team and the NA3HL All-South Division Team during the 2020-21 season.

Moore made is NAHL debut during the 2019-20 season with the Odessa Jackalopes, appearing in 17 games with the ‘Jacks that season and recording three points.
