Las Vegas’ Harris commits to Bemidji State

Las Vegas native Brendan Harris has committed to attend and play his NCAA Division I hockey at Bemidji State University following his junior career.

Harris, a 19-year-old forward who played locally for the Las Vegas Storm and California Titans, is in his third season skating for the British Columbia Hockey League’s (BCHL) Wenatchee Wild.

The 5-foot-7, 160-pound Harris leads the Wild in scoring this season with 43 points on 10 goals through 44 games. His career totals with the Wild include 31 goals, 73 assists and 60 penalty minutes through 121 games, plus another three goals and five assists in 15 career playoff games when the Wild was a member of the North American Hockey League (this is its first season playing in the BCHL).

“I’m very thankful to have such great coaches and teammates here in Wenatchee,” said Harris. “I couldn’t have gotten this scholarship without them.

“I’m very confident that the coaching at Bemidji will help me enjoy a successful college career. This is a very exciting time for my family and I, and I’m happy to have done it in a Wenatchee Wild jersey.”

Bemidji State competes in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
