Saugus native, West Ranch alum Onda chosen winner of weekly NA3HL award

The NA3HL announced today that the South Division Star of the Week is Oklahoma City Blazers forward Michael Onda.

The Blazers started their NA3HL days off quite well with a a 2-1-0 weekend against the Louisiana Drillers, with Onda leading the way.

The 5-foot-8, 160-pound forward and Saugus native was on his game early, logging three goals and six assists for nine points to start the season.

Friday’s overtime thriller saw Onda net a goal and two assists, before setting up another goal in Saturday’s defeat.

Onda was in top form on Sunday, though, where he scored twice —including the game-winning goal — and recorded three helpers as the Blazers took the weekend series with a 6-1 win.

Onda’s nine points lead all Blazers skaters after the first weekend set of the season.

Previously, Onda played for West Ranch High School, the Valencia Jr. Flyers and juniors with the WSHL’s Valencia Flyers.
