Jr. Kings alum LaCombe named to 2026 U.S. Olympic Men’s Hockey Team

USA Hockey announced today that Jackson LaCombe, a defenseman from the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks, has been named to the 2026 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team.

LaCombe, who helped the U.S. to its first gold medal in the IIHF Men’s World Championship since 1933 this past May and is in his third full NHL season, replaces Seth Jones, who is injured and unable to participate.

In addition to helping the U.S. to gold in the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championship, LaCombe was also part of gold medal-winning U.S. National Junior Team at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship.

He played four years of college hockey at Minnesota (2019-23), serving as an alternate captain his final campaign.

During his youth hockey days, LaCombe spent time with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.

Team USA opens play in the Olympic tournament on Feb. 12 in Milan, Italy, against Latvia. Opening faceoff is set for 9:10 p.m. local/3:10 p.m. ET and the game will air live on USA Network and be streamed live on Peacock.
