Brentwood native, GSE, Jr. Sharks alum Herrera signs NCDC tender with South Shore

Ogden Mustangs (USPHL) forward Cade Herrera has advanced to the South Shore Kings’ NCDC team in Foxborough, Mass., by signing a tender last month with the club.

The Brentwood native said he is excited to play on the East Coast next season.

“They asked me to sign, and I talked to my family, and I felt like this was an opportunity not to let pass,” Herrera said. “Ogden is a great place to play not only to develop your hockey skills but your life skills for sure because the coaches there value human skills as much as they value your hockey skills.”

“Cade is a prime example of what we want out of our Mustang players on a yearly basis: dedication, loyalty, perseverance, and being a coachable player,” added Ogden head coach Kenny Orlando. “Cade is a mature young man and we are extremely proud of his accomplishments in the game of hockey to this point. The best part is that he is not done, whether he is in the NCDC or at our level, Cade will continue to excel simply because of his work ethic. When you have your top players also be your hardest workers, that’s a true recipe for team success. That’s who Cade is and what he brings to the table for the Mustangs. We wish him the best of luck in his age-out season.”

Herrera climbed the statistical rankings in Mustangs history over the last two seasons playing in Ogden. He has amassed 75 goals and 53 assists for 128 points in just 97 games. He was also a force in the playoffs, adding eight points in six games.

“(Ogden) is such a great environment,” Herrera said. “It left a mark on me, and I will never forget my experience there. It was a blast.”

During his youth hockey career, Herrera played for the Golden State Elite Eagles and San Jose Jr. Sharks.
