Inland Empire Tournament series kicks off 2021-22 crowning eight champions at Labor Day Invitational

 

The Jr. Reign hosted the first of its Inland Empire Tournament Series events with the Jr. Reign Labor Day Invitational, which was played September 3-6 at Icetown Riverside.

Eight teams were crowned division champions as the event wrapped up on Labor Day.

SDIA Oilers CHAMPS

8UA Pool 1
Champion: SDIA Oilers
Runner-up: California Golden Bears
The Oilers scored four goals in the first period and never looked back in capturing the division title.

 

Jr Gulls CHAMPS

8UA Pool 2
Champion: San Diego Jr. Gulls
Runner-up: Los Angeles Jr. Kings
The Jr. Gulls showed their offense with eight goals over the final two periods to take the title.

 

Jr Gulls Champs B

Champion: San Diego Jr. Gulls
Runner-up: Great Park Grizzlies
Holding a 6-5 lead after two periods, the Jr. Gulls notched the insurance goal in the third period to bring home the banner.

 

Golden Bears Champs

Champion: California Golden Bears
Runner-up: San Diego Jr. Gulls
With three goals in the first period and three in the third, the Golden Bears picked up the division championship.

 

Golden knights Champs

10U
Champion: Vegas Jr. Golden Knights
Runner-up: Anaheim Jr. Ducks
Boston Guinn posted two goals and an assist to go along with a goal and an assist from Zander Meissner and two assists from Brycen Yanga as Vegas took the title. Brode Fox and Anthony Ricky Pacheco shared time in goal for the Jr. Golden Knights. Connor Truong and Hayes Frieden scored for the Jr. Ducks and Jack Kinchla played the entire game between the pipes.

 

Jr Reign Champs

12U
Champion: Jr. Reign
Runner-up: Pasadena Maple Leafs
Nathan Fanning’s hat trick was all the Jr. Reign needed to raise the banner. Derek Zucker and Jayden Peterson saw time in the Jr. Reign crease to lead the team to victory. For the Maple Leafs, Troy Nguyen scored, and Fortune McFadden was the goalie of record.

 

Blackhawks champs

14U
Champion: Santa Clara Blackhawks
Runner-up: Jr. Reign
Aidan Laroche exploded for four goals and an assist to lead the Santa Clara offense. Nathan Newman added a goal and two assists and Kian Kamposch and Justin Saban registered a pair of assists each. In goal, the Blackhawks’ Ryden Reginelli outdueled Michael Mamuzich and Gavin Detert from the Jr. Reign.

 

Jr Sharks CHAMPS

High School/Midget
Champion: San Jose Jr. Sharks
Runner-up: Ice Dogs Hockey Club
The Jr. Sharks were led by Caleb Belland’s five-point game (four goals, one assist) and Christian Starr’s four-point outing (two goals, two assists).

 

The next event as part of the Jr. Reign’s Inland Empire Tournament Series is the Jr. Reign Fall Classic, scheduled for November 26-28.
