A 2000-born defenseman from Cypress, Demin recorded five goals for 11 points in 25 Tier I Elite League games in 2015-16.

Demin, who was selected to the team after a strong performance at USA Hockey’s recent Boys Select 16 Player Development Camp, which took place from July 8-14 in Williamsville, N.Y., will patrol the blue line for the British Columbia Hockey League’s Wenatchee Wild this coming season.

In addition to the United States, the Under-17 Five Nations Tournament will include teams from Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany.

Team USA won the Under-17 Five Nations Tournament last year in Arosa, Switzerland; it marked the sixth championship in eight tries for Team USA, which also claimed top honors in 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2008.
