Jr. Kings grad, Hermosa Beach native Sholl honored with ECHL Goaltender of the Week award

 

Former Los Angeles Jr. King and Hermosa Beach native Tomas Sholl has been named the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Dec. 22, 2019.

It’s the third time this season – and the sixth time in his career – he’s received the weekly honor. The six weekly awards are tied for the third-most in ECHL history.

In two appearances on the road last week for the Idaho Steelheads against the Norfolk Admirals, Sholl fashioned a 2-0-0 record, including one shutout, to compliment a 0.50 goals-against average and .980 save percentage.

The 25-year-old stopped all 21 shots he faced in a 2-0 win on Wednesday and made 29 saves in a 4-1 victory on Saturday.

Under contract with Texas of the American Hockey League, Sholl is tied for the ECHL lead with 12 wins, is third with 1,201 minutes played and 505 saves, fourth with a 2.30 GAA, and is tied for seventh with a .919 save percentage.
