The Midwest Division Star of the Week is Kenai River Brown Bears goaltender Landon Pavlisin.

Pavlisin, 20, helped his team move into first place in the Midwest Division by picking up three of four points in a weekend home series against the Minnesota Magicians.

The Orange native allowed just a single goal on 68 shots in the two games.

On Friday, Pavlisin stopped all 35 shots in a 1-0 shootout loss to the Magicians. On Saturday, he allowed just a single goal and made 32 saves in a 2-1 overtime win.

“Landon was excellent this past weekend, coming up with a number of big saves both nights,” Kenai River head coach Kevin Murdock said. “In two low-scoring games, he was a big reason why our team was able to get points out of both nights. He’s been a calming influence for us all season.”

During his youth career, Pavlisin played for JSerra Catholic High School and the Anaheim Jr. Ducks.
