The North American Hockey League has named Kenai River Brown Bears goalie Landon Pavlisin the Midwest Division Star of the Week for the week ending March 8, 2020.

The Brown Bears and Pavlisin got back on track this past weekend with a home sweep against the Amarillo Bulls.

The Orange native was in goal for both wins over the Bulls, stopping 66 of 69 shots over the weekend.

“Landon played very well for us this weekend,” Kenai River coach Kevin Murdock said. “He battled hard both nights and made some big saves for us late in both games. He worked hard during our off week to get himself refocused and prepared for this weekend, and it paid off.”

On Friday, Pavlisin made 33 saves in a 3-2 win, and then on Saturday, he again made 33 saves in a 5-1 win over the Bulls.

Pavlisin, who played for JSerra High School and the Anaheim Jr. Ducks, recently played for the Central Division team at the 2020 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament.
