Hockey East has announced that University of Vermont freshman Evelyne Blais-Savoie is the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month.

Named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week on Nov. 29 and Dec. 13, Blais-Savoie takes home her first monthly honor after helping Vermont to a 2-2-0 record with two goals and one assist in four games in December.

The San Jose native scored the game-winning strike in a tilt that saw Vermont earn its first win over Boston College since 2009 and ended the first half of the year with points in three of straight outings, including two goals.

Back home, Blais-Savoie played for the San Jose Jr. Sharks and at Valley Christian High School.
