Santa Cruz native, Jr. Sharks alum Cooper garners MAC Rookie of the Year honors

 

The Middle Atlantic Conference has announced that King’s College freshman forward Jack Cooper has been named MAC Rookie of the Year and gained a spot on the All-MAC Second Team.

Cooper led the Monarchs with 13 goals, which ranked fifth in the MAC, adding 10 assists for a team-leading and conference eighth-best 23 points in his rookie campaign.

The Santa Cruz native also recorded a team-best 114 shots, leading the MAC with 4.96 shots per game, and his seven power-play goals ranks 10th in the nation and first in the MAC.

During his youth hockey career, Cooper skated for the San Jose Jr. Sharks.
