Santa Cruz native, Jr. Sharks product Cooper garners weekly accolades from UCHC

King’s College freshman forward Jack Cooper has been named the UCHC Rookie of the Week.

Cooper recorded five points on three goals, including two power-play goals and a game-winning goal, and two assists to lead King’s to a 1-1 record.

He began the weekend with two goals and one assist on four shots as the Monarchs battled Wilkes on Friday. Cooper assisted on a goal and scored twice in the third period as the Monarchs battled back from a 5-2 deficit.

On Saturday, the Santa Cruz native assisted on the game-tying goal in the second period before scoring the game-winning goal in overtime of a 3-2 victory over Albertus Magnus. The victory over the Falcons was the first-ever on home ice for the Monarchs.

During his youth hockey days, Cooper skated for the San Jose Jr. Sharks.
