Atlantic Hockey announced today that American International junior defenseman Zak Galambos is the Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Month.

Galambos notched seven points in AIC’s four Atlantic Hockey postseason games to earn a spot on the All-Tournament team, and also chipped in an assist against top-seeded Michigan in the NCAA Allentown Regional.

The Walnut Creek native finished the month with eight points on two goals and six assists, notching a power-play goal and six blocked shots while firing 17 shots on goal.

During his youth hockey career, Galambos played for the San Jose Jr. Sharks, Vacaville North Stars, Berkeley Bulldogs and Oakland Bears.
