Yorba Linda native, OCHC alum Brey garners weekly awards from ECAC Hockey, NCAA

After helping St. Lawrence University to its first conference sweep of the season, junior Arthur Brey has been named the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday evening.

Brey finished the weekend 2-0 and posted a 1.00 goals-against average with a .978 save percentage in 120 minutes between the pipes for the Saints.

He stopped 90 of 92 shots faced, as he made 37 saves in the Saints’ 3-2 win over Brown University on Friday night before stopping a career-high 53 in a 1-0 win over Yale University on Saturday for his first career shutout. Brey also set a new career high for saves in a period, with 21 in the middle frame against the Bulldogs.

The Yorba Linda native and Orange County Hockey Club alum was also named the third star of the week by the NCAA on Tuesday.
