California natives Newton, Bertolino grab weekly EHL accolades

The EHL has announced its Stars of the Week, with a pair coming from California.

Dylan Newton (G) Connecticut Nor’Easter
Newton has won four straight, responsible for all of the Nor’Easter’s wins in the month of March thus far. To kick off this last week of action, the San Jose native stopped 34 from the division-leading H.C Rhode Island in an impressive win. As the Nor’Easter mounted the comeback in an overtime win over the New York Apple Core, Newton turned aside another 33.

Back home, Newton played for the San Jose Jr. Sharks and Santa Clara Blackhawks.

Dominic Bertolino (F) New Jersey 87’s
An All Star and Manhattanville commit, Bertolino and the 87’s had a perfect trio of wins over the Philadelphia Little Flyers. His week began with a two-goal effort, one of which included the game winner. In the following two, the Stockton native combined for another three points, extending his point streak to seven games.

In California, Bertolino skated for Saint Mary’s High School and the Stockton Colts.
