Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts freshman forward Cade Herrera has been named the MASCAC Player and Rookie of the Week.

Herrera tallied four goals for eight points in a 1-1 week for the Trailblazers, including the third-period game-tying tally to set up the 3-2 overtime win at UMass Dartmouth.

The Brentwood native followed that performance up with a hat trick in the 7-4 home setback to Plymouth State, with all three goals coming in the second period to cut the lead to 4-3.

During his youth hockey days, Herrera played for the Golden State Elite Eagles and San Jose Jr. Sharks.
