California natives Abramson, Karvelas collect weekly honors from USPHL

The USPHL has announced that a pair of California products has earned weekly player awards.

Northern Cyclones forward Max Abramson is the New England Premier Division Forward of the Week, while Seattle Totems blueliner Michael Karvelas is the Northwest Premier Division Defenseman of the Week.

Abramson, an ‘03 out of Pacific Palisades, returning to the team with which he won the 2023 USPHL Premier national championship, had a fantastic single outing last week when he popped in four goals against the Boston Jr. Bruins in a 7-0 win.

He has 16 points in 14 games this year and 47 points in 54 career games.

During his youth hockey days, Abramson skated for the California Golden Bears.

Karvelas, a 2004-born Pasadena native, put up five assists in three games, over which he averaged a team-leading 28:37 per game. He also led the team with 22 shots on goal.

Back home, Karvelas played for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
