California products Tsoar, Perry collect weekly USPHL accolades

The USPHL has announced its players of the week and two California natives from the Pacific Premier Division earned the honors this week.

Ventura Vikings forward Kai Tsoar is the Pacific Division Forward of the Week and Henderson Force goalie Nicholas Perry is the Pacific Division Goaltender of the Week.

Tsoar (‘04/Calabasas) was immense with his offense in a three-game series against the Colorado Fighting Elk. He registered four goals and added 12 assists for 16 points, averaging 5.33 points per game. He now has 62 points in 20 Premier games. He’s also played in six games with the Rock Springs Grizzlies in the NCDC, registering one assist there – “USPHL Advancement In Action.”

Prior to junior hockey, Tsoar played back home for the California Golden Bears, California Titans and Ventura Mariners.

Perry (‘05/Chino Hills) registered a 56-save shutout, the most saves in a shutout for any Premier goaltender this season. He stopped every shot from the Iron County Yeti for a 14-8-0-0 record with a .923 save percentage.

Back home, Perry played for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings, high school hockey for Mater Dei and Placentia-Yorba Linda USD, and in the USPHL for the San Diego Sabers.
