Costa Mesa native, Jr. Ducks alum Roberts secures weekly honors from NAHL

The NAHL has announced that Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks goaltender Miles Roberts is the East Division Star of the Week.

Roberts, 18, gave up just two goals as the Jr. Hat Tricks took three of four points in their weekend road series against the first-place Maryland Black Bears. The Costa Mesa native stopped 72 of 74 shots in the two games.

“Miles has been tremendous in the net for us,” said Danbury head coach Patrik Stefan. “He put in a lot of work on and off the ice to improve his game.”

On Friday, Roberts made 42 saves in a 2-1 overtime win. On Saturday, he made 30 saves through regulation and overtime in a 2-1 shootout loss.

For the season, Roberts has a 5-8-3 record as well as a 2.93 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage.

During youth hockey, Roberts played for the Anaheim Jr. Ducks and Orange Lutheran High School.
