Fresno native, Golden Bears alum Morse inks NAHL tender with Fairbanks

Fresno native Brian Morse has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.

Morse is in his second season playing in the NAPHL for the Northstar Knights’ 18U team, and has recorded 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) from the blue line in 10 NAPHL games, which currently leads all NAPHL 18U T1ER League defensemen in scoring so far this season.

Morse has totaled two goals and 22 assists in 19 games overall this year. His 22 assists are tied for first on the team with forward Dylan Cook. He is also a key piece on the Knights’ power-play unit, as he has added one goal and nine assists on the man advantage.

“I am super excited and blessed to be able to sign a tender with such a great organization like Fairbanks,” Morse said. “I would like to thank my coaches, family and friends for everything they have done to get me here. I am super excited to get up there and start working.”

Last season, Morse had nine points in 13 NAPHL games during the regular season and three points in six Dixon Cup playoff games as the Knights won the Dixon Cup championship.

During his youth hockey days, Morse spent time with the California Golden Bears.
