Hermosa Beach native, Jr. Kings alum Sholl gloves weekly CCHA college hockey award

Bemidji State senior goalie Mattias Sholl has been named the CCHA Goaltender of the Week.

Scholl went 1-1-0 with a 2.53 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage last week, leading Bemidji State to a split with No. 3 Minnesota. Stopping a CCHA-high 72 shots on the weekend, he came 2:12 from recording BSU’s first-ever shutout of the Gophers on Saturday in a 3-1 win.

For the weekend, he saved 10 of 11 shots while the Beavers were shorthanded, helping the penalty kill to a 4-for-5 showing. His 38 total saves on Saturday were a season high.

In youth hockey, the Hermosa Beach native played for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
