Bemidji State University freshman Mattias Sholl has been named the CCHA Goaltender of the Week.

Sholl made his collegiate debut playing 29:53 of shutout hockey in relief of Michael Carr in Friday’s 5-4 victory over Northern Michigan, earning his first victory as a Beaver after making 14 stops.

Sholl then made his first collegiate start Saturday and posted a career-high 35 saves, while surrendering three goals in a 4-3 victory Friday to lead the Beavers to a weekend road sweep at Northern Michigan.

During his youth hockey career, the Hermosa Beach native played for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
