Huntington Beach product, Jr. Ducks alum Loggins wins second straight WCHA Forward of the Week honor
Northern Michigan University senior forward Troy Loggins has been named WCHA Forward of the Week.
He was also named the NCAA First Star of the Week.
Loggins finished the weekend with five goals to lead the Wildcats to a home-and-home sweep of Upper Peninsula rival Michigan Tech University.
The Huntington Beach native and Anaheim Jr. Ducks graduate recorded his first-ever hat trick in a 4-2 effort at Tech on Friday night.
On Saturday, he scored the first two goals of the night to help the Wildcats to a 3-0 victory.
The sweep catapulted the Wildcats to a second-place finish in the WCHA this season.
Loggins leads Northern in scoring and goals scored with 37 points on 22 goals and 15 assists. He shares the WCHA in points and is ranks second in goals.
This is Loggins’s second straight WCHA player of the week award.
