Odessa Jackalopes rookie forward Emerson Goode has committed to NCAA Division I Ferris State University.
Goode, 19, is in his first season in the NAHL. He has played in all 38 games for the Jackalopes and leads the team in points with 27 (11 goals, 16 assists).
The Anaheim native and Jr. Ducks alum also leads the team in assists with 16. He is tied for third in goals at 11.
“I am humbled and honored to announce my commitment to further my education and to play Division I hockey at Ferris State University,” said Goode. “Thank you to my family and friends for sticking by my side as I chase my dream and to my amazing billets for welcoming me into their home and family. I’d also like to thank all my coaches, but especially Coach (Scott) Deur and the Odessa Jackalopes organization for the opportunity to earn a spot on the Jackalopes team. A huge thank you to all my Jacks teammates for their continued support in whatever success I’ve had thus far. I’m looking forward to finishing out this year with a strong push to the playoffs.
“Thank you Bulldogs coaching staff for giving me this amazing opportunity. I’m very excited to be a Bulldog.”
“This is a great opportunity for Emerson,” added Deur. ” He is going to a program that has been successful at moving guys on to the next level. We are excited to see what Emerson will do in the future.”
In his NAHL debut, he scored two goals and helped on another. He left the NAHL Showcase with four goals and one assist in the span of four days.
Prior to reaching the NAHL, Goode was drafted 132nd overall by Oklahoma City Jr. Blazers in the 2021 NA3HL Draft.
Last season, he played 46 games for Meijer 18U AAA and finished third on the team in points (47) and second in goals (21). Goode also played 16 games for them in the NAPHL and registered 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists).
