Jr. Kings grad, Manhattan Beach native Stuart garners weekly WHL accolades
Washington Capitals prospect Logan Stuart is the WHL Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 1.
This marks the second time this season that the Manhattan Beach product has earned the weekly honor.
The 18-year-old logged four points (two goals, two assists) and a plus-2 rating to help the Hurricanes collect three of a possible four points on an East Division road trip.
Stuart assisted on his older brother Jake’s first WHL goal on October 30 in a 3-2 overtime loss against the Brandon Wheat Kings. With the Hurricanes trailing 1-0 in the second period, Stuart picked off an attempted Wheat Kings pass behind the Brandon net and teed up his brother to shoot into a yawning cage. While the Wheaties would skate away with the win, Stuart finished the night with an assist, a plus-1 rating and six faceoff wins.
Lethbridge found a new gear on November 1, doubling up the Regina Pats 6-3. Stuart struck twice in the first period, lighting the lamp on the power play for the game-opener and adding another just over two minutes later with a seeing-eye shot from the slot. He finished his night with a primary assist on captain Owen Berge’s insurance goal. Stuart was named second star of the night with his standout performance.
The Hurricanes alternate captain has tallied 10 goals (including six power-play markers) and seven assists for 17 points in 14 games.
He’s tied for the team lead in goals while ranking second in points.
League-wide, the Los Angeles Jr. Kings alum is tied for second in goals among rookies and clocks in at third in points.
Originally selected by Lethbridge with the 36th overall pick in the second round of the 2023 WHL U.S. Priority Draft, Stuart signed a WHL scholarship and development agreement on June 5, 2026.
Less than a month later, the Capitals snapped Stuart up with the 208th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2026 NHL Draft.
