Jr. Kings, Jr. Ducks alum DeCarlo makes NCAA D-I commitment to Air Force
Huntington Beach native and Lone Star Brahmas (NAHL) forward Andrew DeCarlo has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at the United States Air Force Academy (Atlantic Hockey).
DeCarlo, 20, is currently playing in his third season in the NAHL where he is currently second in team scoring with 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 11 games with Lone Star.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to play NCAA Division 1 hockey at the Air Force Academy,” said DeCarlo, who played for the Anaheim Jr. Ducks and Los Angeles Jr. Kings growing up. “I want to thank all of my coaches, teammates and billet families that have helped me get here, with a special thanks to my parents and sister for all of their support over the years.
“Who knew starting out as a roller-kid in Huntington Beach, California, would lead to playing for and serving the Air Force? I can’t wait to be a Falcon, the stoke is high.”
Over the course of the past three seasons with the Brahmas, DeCarlo has appeared in 107 career regular-season games and recorded 56 career points on 21 goals and 35 assists.
In the summer of 2019, DeCarlo was selected and represented the Brahmas on Team NAHL at the 2019 Sirius Ice Hockey World Cup in Sochi, Russia, where he played in three games during the event.
