Jr. Reign, St. John Bosco alum Croteau commits to NCAA D-I Clarkson
Waterloo Black Hawks goaltender Emmett Croteau has committed to NCAA Division I Clarkson University (ECAC Hockey).
The Bonnyville, Alberta native was among the youngest goalies in the USHL during the 2020-21 season and also one of the youngest players on Waterloo’s roster.
Nonetheless, he was recognized by league coaches and general managers with a place on the USHL All-Rookie Second Team.
Croteau won his league debut with 29 saves on 33 shots January 9, 2021 versus the Sioux Falls Stampede. It was one of eight instances last season when Croteau faced 30 or more shots, and he picked up the victory in six of those contests, including a season-high 34 saves versus the Lincoln Stars on March 14, 2021.
Overall, he appeared in 16 games with a 7-6-0 record, a 3-67 GAA and a .887 save percentage.
Waterloo selected Croteau during the 10th round of the 2020 USHL Phase II Draft.
During his youth hockey career, Croteau played for St. John Bosco High School and the Jr. Reign 18U team in 2019-20.
