The month of January has been eventful for Wenatchee Wild forward Cade Littler, to say the least.

First, his name appeared on the NHL Central Scouting midterms, then he was named as the BCHL December High School Player of the Month. He’s currently second on the team in scoring and has a point in each of the Wild’s three games this month, including a game-winning goal.

Now, he has secured a college commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey for this week’s No. 1-ranked Division I hockey team in the country, Minnesota State University.

Littler, the son of Wild GM Bliss Littler and Wild director of sales and marketing Gretchen Littler, is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound center who spent time with the San Jose Jr. Sharks’ 14U AAA team.

He spent the majority of his development years locally with the Wenatchee Wilderness 16U AAA where he played 72 games over two seasons, averaging an impressive 1.63 points per game.

Wild head coach Chris Clark, himself a Minnesota State alum, has watched Littler develop over the last nine years.

“We couldn’t be more excited to see Cade make his commitment to Minnesota State University,” said Clark. “Knowing all the work he has put in to earn this opportunity makes our staff even more proud. The Mavericks are getting an extremely smart hockey player and a true pro, on and off the ice. We look forward to continuing to help him develop and prepare for college hockey.”
