The UCHC has announced that Utica University junior netminder Angela Hawthorne is the UCHC Women’s Goaltender of the Week.

A Santa Clara native, Hawthorne stopped 38 of 41 shots in Friday’s season opener against No. 4 ranked Elmira. The reigning conference goaltender of the year made 18 of her 38 stops in the third period in a 3-2 loss to the Soaring Eagles, including stopped 15 of 16 shots on five Elmira power-plays.

Hawthorne spent time with the San Jose Jr. Sharks during her youth hockey career.
