The USPHL has announced that Carolina Jr. Hurricanes defenseman Chase Wainman is the Southeast Division Defenseman of the Week.

Wainman, a 2002-born Las Vegas native, was the leader in many ways for the Jr. Canes in their visit to Charlotte for the Carolina Cup.

He was on the ice the most, putting up 21:06 in ice time, he scored the team’s only goal, and exited the 5-1 defeat with a plus-1 rating.

Overall, Wainman has a 2-4-6 line in 20 games in his first full USPHL Premier season.
