Las Vegas product Moore returns to SPHL’s Rivermen ahead of 2026-27 season

The SPHL’s Peoria Rivermen have announced the return of defenseman Gunner Moore for the 2026-27 season.

Moore returns to Peoria after joining the Rivermen late in the 2025-26 regular season, appearing in four games for Peoria with one assist and four penalty minutes. Moore was also selected to the Rivermen’s protected list following the 2025-26 season, ensuring the organization retained his SPHL rights for the upcoming campaign.

A native of Las Vegas, Moore spent four seasons at NCAA Division III Wisconsin-Stout, where he totaled 56 points in 115 career games.

He was also a member of the Shreveport Mudbugs’ NAHL Robertson Cup championship team in 2022 during his junior career.

“Gunner came in late last season and immediately showed us that he belonged at this level,” said Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel. “He is a competitive defenseman who works hard, plays with an edge and gives us another dependable piece on the blue line. We are excited to have him back for a full season.”

During his youth hockey days, Moore played for St. John Bosco High School and the California Wildcats.
