The EHL has announced that goaltender Alex Koenig from the Express Hockey Club is the East Division Star of the Week.

Koenig, an ’04 native of Manhattan Beach, had a terrific showing in his team’s 2-1 shootout win over the East Coast Wizards. Koenig was solid all game and allowed just one goal on 48 shots in the win.

In 13 appearances for the Express this season, Koenig is 9-3 with a 1.80 GAA in 769 minutes played.

The Express has clinched a playoff position and currently hold first place in the East Division with a 29-9-0-1 record.

Back home, Koenig played for the Anaheim Jr. Ducks and Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
