Selects product, Newport Beach native McManus returning to ECHL’s Thunder for ’26-27 season
The ECHL’s Adirondack Thunder have announced that the club has re-signed forward Brannon McManus to a contract for the 2026-27 season.
The Newport Beach native led the Thunder last season with 67 points (31 goals, 36 assists) in 72 games and was named MVP at the 2026 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic. His 67 points and 31 goals both rank third-most in a season in Thunder history and earned him a spot on the All-ECHL Second Team.
McManus was acquired from the Fort Wayne Komets in a trade prior to the 2025-26 season after recording 31 points (16 goals, 15 assists) in 61 games. During the 2023-24 season, he had 47 points (13 goals, 34 assists) in 71 games with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
Prior to his professional career, McManus played five seasons of NCAA Division I hockey at Minnesota and Omaha. He recorded 119 points (48 goals, 71 assists) in 170 games. He also served as an alternate captain during the 2020-21 campaign at Minnesota.
Back home, McManus starred for the LA Selects.
