University of Minnesota junior forward Brannon McManus has been named the Big Ten First Star of the Week for the week ending Jan. 26, 2020.

The Newport Beach native led the Gophers to their first Big Ten sweep of the season, picking up six points against No. Ohio State University.

McManus recorded back-to-back three-point games, starting with one goal and two assists in Friday’s 6-3 victory. He tallied the eventual game-winner to go along with two assists in a 4-1 win on Saturday.

This is McManus’ third career weekly award and first since Oct. 9, 2018, when he was tabbed Big Ten Second Star of the Week.

During his youth career, McManus played for the LA Selects.
