The Tahoe Knight Monsters, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights and the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights, have announced that defenseman Jake McGrew has re-signed with the team for his third season in Tahoe.

An Orange native, McGrew has recorded 78 points (41 goals, 37 assists) in 132 games over the previous two seasons with the Knight Monsters. Last season, he set a career-high with 22 goals.

Prior to joining the Knight Monsters, McGrew played two seasons in Sweden, and previously played in the ECHL for the Orlando Solar Bears and Allen Americans.

A sixth-round selection (159th overall) by the San Jose Sharks in the 2017 NHL Draft, McGrew appeared in 84 games for the Sharks’ AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, where he tallied 30 points (16 goals, 14 assists).

Back home, McGrew played for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
