San Diego native, Jr. Gulls product Kallen selected WCHA Defenseman of the Week
The WCHA announced Monday that San Diego native Nate Kallen is the conference’s Defenseman of the Week.
Kallen, a senior captain at Ferris State University, produced three goals in the Bulldogs’ weekend WCHA series with Northern Michigan. Kallen’s three points included a power-play goal and two even-strength tallies for FSU in the two close contests.
The three goals led all WCHA blueliners on the weekend and he shared the league weekend lead in points with three as well.
The San Diego Jr. Gulls alum finished the weekend with five shots along with four blocks in the series.
This is Kallen’s first career WCHA Player of the Week honor.
