San Ramon native, Tri-Valley, GSE alum Ivanov signs NAHL tender with Jackalopes

The NA3HL’s Texas RoadRunners have announced that forward Matvey Ivanov has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the NAHL’s Odessa Jackalopes for the 2023-24 season.

Ivanov is a 19-year-old San Ramon native who came to the RoadRunners this season from the Tri-Valley Bulls of the NAPHL. In 42 games so far with the Runners, Ivanov has 36 goals and 40 assists for 76 points, second in NA3HL scoring, and is plus-39.

“’Ivy’ is a very skilled player that has been working very hard on his 200-foot game this season,” said RoadRunners head coach Mike Beavis. “He is an intricate part of our special teams systems, both on the power play and penalty kill. I had been speaking with members of the Odessa scouting staff that were in attendance at the NA3HL Showcase about Matvey and they made the decision along with the Jackalopes head coach to take him off the table as several NAHL teams were gaining interest and offering to affiliate him at the event.

“We are very excited that Matvey has tendered with the Jackalopes for next season and are looking for big things to happen for him and his new club on the next step of his journey, but in the meantime, he and his teammates have a lot more work to do in the NA3HL in their quest for a long playoff run.”

Back home, Ivanov skated for the Tri-Valley Blue Devils, Tri-Valley Bulls, and Golden State Elite Eagles.
