Santa Barbara native, Titans grad Johnson bags weekly Big Ten honor
University of Wisconsin junior forward Will Johnson has been named the Big Ten’s Second Star of the Week.
Johnson, a Santa Barbara native and California Titans graduate, netted Wisconsin’s first goal of the season 5:51 into the first period of Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Michigan Tech University.
He then assisted on the Badgers’ second goal, a power-play tally, for his seventh career multi-point game.
During the 2012-13 season, Johnson compiled 19 goals and 35 points in 21 games for the Titans’ 16U AAA team.
Johnson then skated for the NAHL’s Minnesota Magicians in 2013-14 and the USHL’s Madison Capitols the following year.
