Providence freshman forward Trevor Connelly has been named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week.

The Tustin native led all players last week with six points on two goals and four assists.

After recording an assist on Friday against Northeastern, Connelly followed up with a five-point performance on Saturday night in Providence’s 6-5 overtime victory. He tallied his first two NCAA goals, including the winner in overtime, and added three assists on the evening.

In four games this season, he has posted seven points on two goals and five assists with 18 shots on goal.

Back home, Connelly played for the Anaheim Jr. Ducks, Anaheim Ice Dogs and San Diego Saints.
