Khodorenko recorded his first career hat trick and added an assist in the Spartans’ 5-3 win over Ferris State last weekend. It was the first four-point game of his career and the hat trick was the first by a Spartan since Ryan Keller in March 2015.

All three of Khodorenko’s goals came on the power play, giving him five for the season, which ranks second in the country and leads the Big Ten. Khodorenko’s production on the man-advantage has helped MSU to the fifth-best power-play percentage in the nation at 34.6.

The native of Walnut Creek leads MSU with five goals and is third on the team in points with seven.

It’s the first weekly conference honor for Khodorenko.

During his youth hockey days, Khodorenko played for the Oakland Bears, Anaheim Wildcats, Santa Clara Blackhawks and the LA Hockey Club.
