The UCHC has announced that Wilkes senior Garrett Nieto has been named the UCHC Men’s Goaltender of the Week.

The Yorba Linda native earned a key UCHC win for the Colonels Friday as he stopped 37 of 38 shots during a 2-1 victory at Nazareth. The Golden Flyers, who are receiving votes in the national poll, were unable to solve Nieto as he earned a .974 save percentage in the game. He made 16 of his 37 saves in the second period.

During his youth hockey days, Nieto starred for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
