San Diego’s Slaker selected Big Ten First Star of the Week
The Big Ten announced its Three Stars of the Week on Tuesday and San Diego native Jake Slaker was named First Star.

• Registered points on both Michigan goals as the Wolverines skated to a 2-1 victory Saturday at Ferris State
• Scored his first collegiate goal to give Michigan a 1-0 lead in the second period
• Added an assist on the game-winning power-play goal with less than five minutes remaining in the third period
• Claims his first career weekly award
In his youth hockey days, Slaker skated for the UTC Jaguars, Kroc Center Saints, SDIA and the LA Hockey Club.
He was tabbed California Rubber Magazine‘s Junior Player of the Year for the 2015-16 season.
