Harvard senior Merrick Madsen has been recognized as ECAC Hockey’s Goaltender of the Week as the conference announced the weekly honors Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Madsen went 2-0-0 last weekend as the Crimson defeated both RPI and Union in key league contests.

Against RPI, Madsen pitched a 32-save shutout (his 10th career shutout) in a 3-0 win and then versus Union, made 36 saves to earn his 51st career win at Harvard, third on the all-time list, in a 4-3 overtime victory.

In his youth days, Madsen, also an Arizona Coyotes prospect, played youth hockey back home for the WV Wolves and California Heat.
