California natives Guttman, St. Ivany tabbed for U.S. Junior Select Team

 

USA Hockey today named 22 players for the 2017 U.S. Junior Select Team that will play in the 2017 World Junior A Challenge from Dec. 10-16 in Truro, Nova Scotia.

All players currently play in the United States Hockey League, the lone Tier I junior hockey league in the U.S., and two California natives are part of the team.

Los Angeles native and Dubuque Fighting Saints captain Cole Guttman (top) and Manhattan Beach product and Sioux Falls Stampede defenseman Jack St. Ivany (below) are part of the Team USA squad.

Guttman, who recently committed to NCAA Division I University of Denver for next season, was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth round of the 2017 NHL Draft.

Both Guttman and St. Ivany played youth hockey for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
