California natives Zaccari, Perry, Cowles collect weekly honors from NCDC, USPHL

The NCDC and USPHL have announced their players of the week, with a trio coming from California.

South Shore Kings blueliner Jason Zaccari is the NCDC New England Division Defenseman of the Week, Henderson Force goalie Nicholas Perry is the USPHL Pacific Premier Goaltender of the Week, and Northern Cyclones goalie Nick Cowles is the USPHL New England Elite Division Goaltender of the Week.

Zaccari (‘05/Santa Ana) scored his 50th career assist last week, adding six to his career points total of 61. The Kings blueliner has played 74 career games across two NCDC seasons. He has 26 points over 25 games so far this season.

Zaccari is an Anaheim Jr. Ducks alum.

Perry (‘05/Chino Hills) stepped into the crease for two more top performances, where he stopped 61 of 65 shots in a pair of wins against the San Diego Sabers. Perry has improved to 11-6-0-0 on the season.

Back home, Perry played for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings, high school hockey for Mater Dei and Placentia-Yorba Linda USD, and in the USPHL for the Sabers.

Cowles (‘05/Irvine) took a shootout loss, but he was fantastic during the Jan. 10 game against the rival Islanders Hockey Club, stopping 53 of 55 shots in 65 minutes. He stands at 9-2-0-1 overall.

In addition to the Jr. Ducks, Cowles saw time in the high school ranks back in California for JSerra and Irvine United.
