California products Yi, Perry claim monthly USPHL honors
The USPHL has announced its players of the month for November, with two California natives earning the honors.
The Pacific Premier Division Defenseman of the Month is the Ontario Jr. Reign’s Christian Yi, while Jr. Reign teammate Nicholas Perry is the Pacific Division Goaltender of the Month.
Yi was very productive last month, as he totalled 10 points in seven games. The blueliner scored a jaw-dropping seven goals and added three assists.
Back home, the Lake Forest native played for the California Golden Bears and Anaheim Jr. Ducks.
Perry picked up three wins in November. His performance between the pipes was good for a 2.46 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.
Prior to junior hockey, the Chino Hills native played for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings and high school hockey for Mater Dei and Placentia-Yorba Linda USD.
