Cypress native, Jr. Kings product Minnehan bags weekly NAHL accolades

The NAHL has announced that Northeast Generals forward Paul Minnehan is the East Division Star of the Week.

Minnehan, 19, was an offensive force this past week in three games against the Maine Nordiques as the Cypress native totaled nine points in the three games.

On Thursday, he had a goal and four assists in a 6-5 home loss. The next night, he picked up a goal and two assists in a 4-1 win. On Sunday, he assisted on the lone Generals goal in a 2-1 loss.

“Paul has been great all year,” said Generals head coach Bryan Erikson. “We have hit a little bit of a rough patch as a team and Paul has really stepped up, both on and off the ice. He has set the example of how to work hard shift after shift. Paul is not only a great player but a great captain that continues to produce, game in and game out.

“We look forward to his contributions as we come down the stretch.”

For the season, the Arizona State recruit is second in league scoring with 64 points (26 goals, 38 assists) in 43 games.

During his youth hockey days, Minnehan skated for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
