Bemidji State University freshman goaltender Mattias Sholl has been named the CCHA Rookie of the Week.

Sholl recorded two wins on the weekend, a .961 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average in a home sweep of Lake Superior State University.

He stopped 49 of 51 shots on the weekend, starting with 28 in Friday’s 5-1 victory followed by 21 saves in the second game. Sholl posted a 2-0-0 record in 119:50 minutes of play.

During his youth hockey days, the Hermosa Beach native played for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
