Irvine product, Jr. Kings, Jr. Ducks alum McMahan tabbed WCHA Rookie of the Week
Minnesota State University freshman forward Shane McMahan has been named WCHA Rookie of the Week.
McMahan, an Irvine native, scored twice and had an assist with two shots on goal and a plus-1 rating versus Northern Michigan. He had his first career multiple-point game (two goals, assist) in Saturday’s 8-2 victory over the Wildcats and scored his first career power-play marker.
For the season he has three goals and six points in 22 games.
As a youth, McMahan skated for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings, Anaheim Jr. Ducks and Orange County Hockey Club.
